The Loom Of Fate begins in Banjo's hometown, an average suburban city in northern California.

the Viking Age by providing links to a few of the many web sites about these locations.
Iceland

Volund's Cave
Volund's cave is based on Ballova, a cave where iron was worked in the Thidrekssaga. This cave is thought by
some to be a cave in Balve, Germany. To get there, Banjo and Desmond travel with Ketil's Vikings down the Rhine
river to the Duna, a small tributary just north of present-day Cologne, Germany. They go northeast up the Duna,
then travel on land to Ballova.

Niflheim
The cold, misty world of the dead. Home of Hel, queen of the damned.
